Agnes Czajka is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Studies and Director of Research for the School of Social Sciences and Global Studies at the Open University. Agnes joined the Open University in 2013, having previously taught at politics at Sabanci University in Turkey, and sociology at the American University in Cairo and the University College Cork in Ireland. Her research interests include contemporary social and political thought, continental political philosophy, democracy, citizenship, contentious and performative politics, migrant and refugee politics, and European and Mediterranean politics. Her recent publications include Democracy and Justice: Reading Derrida in Istanbul (Routledge) and Europe After Derrida: Crisis and Potentiality (Edinburgh University Press). Between 2017 and 2019 she co-lead the Who Are We? project at Tate Exchange, London, and is principal investigator on the Picturing Climate project.
